Latex Gloves

Disposable Latex gloves are made out of natural rubber (which will break down easier when discarded correctly). They are a popular protective glove for medical or industrial uses. Despite the development of synthetic materials, latex is still the most elastic, resilient and form-fitting material for gloves. This gives the wearer a great deal of dexterity, tactility and comfort, making these gloves perfect for medical, auto repair and food service applications.

They come in lightly powdered and powder-free. The powder inside latex gloves is cornstarch based and used for easily placing gloves onto hands. The drawback to latex is that it is an allergen for some people, creating reactions ranging from dry itchy irritated areas on the skin to a severe allergic reaction. Latex allergies can also develop with the extended use of latex gloves.

These can be dispensed from walls using our Standard Glove Dispensers.

Some people choose nitrile alternatives to latex because of latex allergies. If this is not an issue, latex gloves provide greater comfort and flexibility over nitrile gloves. Latex gloves provide great touch sensitivity and good strength so are suitable in high-risk environments involving infectious material. Compared to nitrile gloves, latex gloves do not have a long shelf life, however they are still cost-effective. All Bastion latex gloves are fully compliant to international standards.
